The difference between beta and developer channel chrome is just the updated period. Developer Channel of Google Chrome is updated weekly where as beta chrome is done monthly.

Note that If you are not a developer channel user, you will not see the new features in your Google Chrome. However, shifting to Developer Channel of Google Chrome is pretty simple.

Chrome Beta to Developer Channel Chrome – Step by Step

1- Download the Google Chrome Channel Changer.
2- Run the file.
3- Select the circle next to the Dev: The latest features and bugfixes.
4- Click on the Update button to save your choice.
5- Click on the Close button
6- In Google Chrome, click the wrench menu(Top right) and choose “About Google Chrome”.
7- If there are any latest update, click Update Now to install the current channel’s release.
8- Restart Google Chrome

Google Chrome will automatically update the browser to the latest version when future updates are released, Follow steps once again to change back to a different channel (stable or beta).
