2 – Before you begin surfing, press “Run Wizard”.
3 – In new window make sure that “Backup” is selected and press “Next”.
4 – Select the default profile and press “Next”.
5 – Browse for somewhere to place the backup of the default profile (a USB key, for example, on which you could also conveniently store GCB for use on public PCs), and press “‘Back up”. Close the window by hand.

After Finish Browsing

1 – To roll back the profile, run GCB again and press “Run Wizard” button.
2 – Select “Restore” and press “Next”.
3 – Browse for your saved file and press “Next” again.
4 – Make sure that you are restoring to the default profile, press “Next” and hit the “Restore” button.
5 – When asked to confirm the procedure, after which the backup will be restored.

2 – Go to the “Basics” tab.
3 – The first section on the first page of options is called “On startup:”, and in there you’ll see an option to “Reopen the pages that were open last”. Once you select this, Google Chrome will start up showing the same pages that were open when you shut down.

This is as simple as it looks. However, Normally the most recent windows you used is restored. If you have more than one window you want to restore.

Make sure you use “Exit” on the Tool menu to shutdown all your windows at once instead of closing them one by one.

1 – Opening The Last Tabs
Lets say you close a tab by mistake and you want to open it again. Fret not. Chrome remembers the last 10 tabs that you closed. Use this combination to open them up.

2 – Opening a Particular Tab
You have multiple tabs open and you want to go straight to a specific tab. Most users would either use the mouse or in Firefox use the cntrl + tab to switch in a sequential order. But in Chrome you can actually jump to the specific tab.

3 – Opening Your Home Page

Google Chrome’s incognito mode is less sophisticated than IE8’s InPrivate browsing, but it has a feature that will be useful for those who have more than one Google account.

When you open a window in incognito mode (Ctrl+Shift+N), your cookies from the standard session are no longer available and you can easily log in to a new Google account.

What is incognito Mode?

Chrome’s help center has more details about this feature. “Webpages that you open and files downloaded while you are incognito won’t be logged in your browsing and download histories; all new cookies are deleted after you close the incognito window. You can browse normally and in incognito mode at the same time by using separate windows.”

Michael Jeffrey explains that “incognito mode is a window-level mode – all pages viewed within this window are not persisted to the user’s history, and incognito pages use a temporary cookie store that is blank at the start of the incognito session”.

When you close the incognito window, all the cookies are deleted so you need to log in again the next time you browse in incognito mode. This trick can be used for any other services that allow multiple accounts, but you can only use two accounts at the same time: one in a standard window and the other one in incognito mode.
